In this project, we were contracted to create a dreamy children's book about two brothers as they explore their dreams. The main characters are based on the author's children and it turns out they love wearing hats! The brothers were drawn in many different outfits to suit the various roles they find themselves in.
I wanted there to be a harmonious relationship between the images and the text on the adjacent side, so I created a cloudy vine border for each of the pages.
We had to try a few variations of fonts to select the one that suited the book just right!
Eventually we settled on 'Mystery quest' font which looked amazing! We used a light background colour for the pages containing text, using a harmonious colour from the pantone selected.
